GRUPPO ANTONINI SUPPORTING CULTURE: THE CLAUDIO I BARGE BECOMES A FLOATING STAGE FOR SIMON BOCCANEGRA IN FRONT OF THE AMERIGO VESPUCCI
We are honored to have contributed to the realization of such a meaningful initiative for the city of La Spezia.
Our barge Claudio I hosted the staging of the opera Simon Boccanegra, which was performed on June 19 and 20 in front of the Amerigo Vespucci, the famous training ship of the Italian Navy, moored at Molo Italia.
As Mayor Pierluigi Peracchini reminded us, Simon Boccanegra represents a deep connection with the history of the city: from the Doge who founded the Podesteria of La Spezia in 1343, to the Amerigo Vespucci, a symbol of the political choices of post-unification Italy and of the Naval Arsenal commissioned by Cavour in 1862.
The opera, composed by Giuseppe Verdi, is part of the centenary celebrations of the Palio del Golfo, promoted by the Municipality of La Spezia, the Comitato delle Borgate, and Italian Blue Growth.
The arrival of the Amerigo Vespucci in La Spezia, after a two-year world tour, marked a historic moment for the city: the ship has returned home to enter the Naval Arsenal and begin a period of maintenance, concluding a long journey around the globe.
We would like to thank the Italian Navy, Mayor Pierluigi Peracchini, Councillor Patrizia Saccone, and the entire Municipal Administration for involving us in this important project, which fully expresses the value of collaboration between institutions and local businesses.
