LOAD OUT AND SAIL AWAY OF THE PRE-DRILLING TEMPLATE FOR THE PPE PLATFORM
Load-out and sail-away operations of the Pre-Drilling Template for the “PPE” and “WHPA” platforms destined for Libya.
On September 17, 2024, the Load Out activities of the Pre-Drilling Templates for the “PPE” and “WHPA” platforms began, organized in three phases: load-out of the pre-drilling template for the PPE platform, load-out of the pre-drilling template for the WHPA platform, and sea fastening and sail away of the structures.
Destination: Libya — Client: MOG Mellitah Oil & Gas.
A pre-drilling template for a platform, in the context of offshore oil and gas exploration, is a structure installed on the seabed to facilitate the drilling of oil or gas wells by acting as a guide. The structure is made of carbon steel and is designed to ensure drilling operations are carried out with maximum safety.
To identify the location where the pre-drilling templates will be installed, it is necessary to know precisely where the wells must be drilled.
On September 23, the Load Out of the Pre-Drilling Template for the WHPA platform was carried out onto the Claudio I barge. On October 1, the Sail Away of the Pre-Drilling Templates for the PPE and WHPA platforms took place.
